Assocjazzjoni Maltija Tal-Apikultura
About us
A voluntary association built on shared knowledge, good neighbourliness and a deep respect for bees.
Our story
The association grew from something simple: beekeepers helping one another. Knowledge about bees has always been passed on from hand to hand in Malta — at the apiary, over a cup of tea, at the village feast. We exist to keep that tradition alive and to make it open to everyone.
Today our members range from people with a single hive in a garden to experienced beekeepers with many colonies. Together we share advice, learn new methods, face new threats such as Varroa and the Oriental hornet, and speak up for bees whenever decisions affect them.

Our mission
To support beekeepers, educate communities and protect pollinators across the Maltese islands.
Our vision
A Malta where bees are healthy, beekeeping is responsible and respected, and every community understands why pollinators matter.

How we are run
We are a registered voluntary organisation in Malta (registration number VO/0550). The association is governed by its statute and led by a committee elected by the members at the general meeting.
We are strictly non-profit: no profit is distributed to members, and all funds are used for the association's aims. Committee members and volunteers give their time freely.
